In Bethlehem, God gave us the gifts that our hearts still long for. This Christmas season, and over the next three Sabbaths we are exploring the first three Fruits of the Spirit—Love, Joy, and Peace—through the story of Jesus’ birth in Luke 2. In this three-part series, “The Good News of Christmas,” we will see how God’s amazing love draws near to us (Luke 2:1–7), how His good news brings great joy to all people (Luke 2:8–12), and how His wonderful peace fills the hearts of those who come to Jesus in faith (Luke 2:13–20). As we follow the shepherds, Mary, and Joseph, we discover that these gifts are not just holiday themes—but the daily work of Christ in us.
